SUMMER 2024

In summer of 2024, we focused on advancing system architecture and simulation capabilities for POLARIS.

On the mechanical side, the team carried out HULL MANUFACTURING TESTING. In parallel, STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS was conducted for the COUNTERWEIGHT, SOLAR PANELS, and RUDDER WATERPROOFING SYSTEM. These efforts strengthened the vessel’s stability strategy and energy integration plan while addressing long-term durability in marine conditions.

The electrical team concentrated on SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE DEVELOPMENT, establishing the foundational layout for communication and power distribution. The team also completed MOCK HARDWARE PROTOTYPING.

On the software side, progress centered on improving simulation realism. The team IMPLEMENTED FLUID MODELS FOR THE SIMULATOR, enhancing the accuracy of hydrodynamic behaviour. Additionally, they continued development on CAN TO ROS INTEGRATION.
